Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) will provide ongoing advisory support for the operation of a Korean-style preventive health screening center to be established in Los Angeles next year, building on its previous role as consultant for the center’s setup.
The hospital said Thursday it signed an operational advisory agreement on Oct. 22 with SL Preventive Medical Center. the operator of the upcoming Korean-style health screening center in Los Angeles.
This latest contract follows an earlier agreement signed in April 2024 between SNUBH and the SL Christian Foundation, which oversees the center’s establishment. Under the new agreement, SNUBH will offer comprehensive consulting services covering the center’s launch preparation, operations, clinical collaboration, staff training, and development of integrated health screening programs.
SNUBH plans to apply the strengths of Korea’s systematic and high-precision health screening model to develop comprehensive programs capable of early detection of serious diseases such as cancer, stroke, and heart disease. The hospital also intends to establish a referral pathway for patients who wish to receive follow-up treatment in Korea.
“We are honored that the Seoul National University Hospital group can continue to support the establishment and operation of the LA Health Screening Center,” said SNUH President and CEO Kim Young-tae. “Beyond a simple consulting partnership, we will do our utmost to help create a center that embodies the philosophy and vision shared by both institutions.”
SNUBH President Song Jung-han also said, “We will share our experience and capabilities to help the LA Health Screening Center take root successfully in the U.S.”
By providing high-quality screenings at reasonable costs, SNUBH aims to showcase the excellence of Korean healthcare to a wider global audience, Song added.
SL Preventive Medical Center Chairman Park Do-wun added, “With the expertise and experience of the Seoul National University Hospital group, we are confident that the LA Health Screening Center will become a trusted medical institution in the local community.”
This partnership will allow the center to deliver world-class healthcare services not only to Korean residents but also to American citizens, Park added.
The upcoming LA Health Screening Center will be housed on the first and second floors of the nine-story “Logos Tower” (18000 Studebaker Rd, Cerritos, California), owned by the SL Christian Foundation. Occupying a total floor area of approximately 1,200 pyeong (about 4,000 square meters), the center will be the first large-scale Korean-style one-stop health screening facility established in the United States. Remodeling is currently underway, with an opening scheduled for October 2026.
