‘Korean-Style’ corn dogs available in Little Rock’s River Market District

The new location of Two Hands Corn Dogs is in the Ottenheimer Market Hall and is part of a plan to make major changes to Little Rock’s River Market going forward.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A new business has now moved into the River Market, offering a twist on the traditional, American-style corn dog you might get at a county fair.

The business in question is “Two Hands Corn Dogs”, which is a Korean-style corn dog business that also operates a location on Cantrell Road.

“They’re a spin on the classic, traditional corn dogs- just exotic,” said Mack Shultz, an employee at Two Hands. “So we have a range of seven different corn dogs.”

Shultz referred to the “coatings” you can choose, which are Two Hands, Spicy, Potato, Classic, American Classic, Crispy Rice, and Injeolmi.

Then, you can also make your choice of a filling, such as beef sausage, mozzarella, or cheddar.

“I like the mozzarella, the fried mozzarella, and the spicy one,” Vincent Denton, another employee, said.

To celebrate the River Market location’s opening, the corn dogs were free from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, and customers who braved the line offered rave reviews.

“It’s always so good,” said Phoenix Beard, a frequent visitor of the Cantrell location. “This location is closer to home, so I was ecstatic.”

“It’s pretty good,” Tyler Burnett said. “It’s different. It’s a little sweeter than your normal corn dog, but it’s just still savory and delicious.”

Seeing the crowd was something very exciting for Little Rock City Board Member Dean Kumpuris.

He’s over the area that includes the River Market, and the Ottenheimer Market Hall, where Two Hands is located, is an area he said could use the growth.

“Having someone new coming in,” Kumpuris said. “Doing something exciting, it just makes you feel good for the public, and it has new energy for people to enjoy.”

Kumpuris said more changes to the River Market are coming.

Safety improvements are a point of emphasis after a shooting last week, but plans for outdoor seating, more dinner options, and looser alcohol laws are all in the works.

“This will go from a venue for just breakfast and lunch to being for dinner,” Kumpuris said. “And then staying after dinner and having fun all evening.”

If you’re interested in getting your hands on a free corn dog, the River Market location of Two Hands will offer them for free again on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
