Student designers will show off their creations when the Jamileh Kamran Arkansas Fashion School presents its 2024 Emerging Designers Fashion Show, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Chenal Country Club, 10 Chenal Club Blvd. in Little Rock. Guests will have the chance to view ensembles by graduating designer Malia Anderson; ongoing students Natasha Vault Booth, Ashley Duvon, Katy Garrett, Macie Van Meter, Safiyyah Waqas, Sebastian Rendon, Brianna Hodges and Leia Carnley; and alumna Nisha Desai. Attendees will also be treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and a chance to mingle and chat with the featured designers. Tickets are $100 at eventbrite.com.
SM Collections
The banquet hall of Star of India restaurant, 301 N. Shackleford Road, Suite D1, Little Rock, is the setting for the unveiling of SM Collections, 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Guests can peruse handcrafted Indian jewelry, “trendy clutches and accessories” by Shibani and Deepali Lal. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and soft drinks will be served. Admission is free.
Runway for a Cause
A forthcoming “all-male pink fashion show” is flying under the moniker Runway for a Cause — a name that should be familiar to those who attended an erstwhile event of this name benefiting the Komen Foundation. The second annual event presented by My Pink Mood will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at The Space With Grace, 8316 W. Markham St. in Little Rock. Hosted by VJ ThaPrince — with radio personality “Broadway” Joe Booker as guest host — the show will highlight local designers’ collections. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Proceeds will help My Pink Mood, founded by Yolanda Joiner, to serve disadvantaged breast-cancer patients “through inspiration, education, empowerment & community involvement.” Tickets, $60 front-row VIP, $40 general, are available via eventbrite.com; for more information about the organization visit mypinkmoodorg.
Naturally Hurd
The seventh annual Naturally Hurd Hair Event, presented by Unhurd Conversations LLC and celebrating “women who embrace the various textures of their hair,” will take place from 3-7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Maumelle Event Center, 10910 Maumelle Blvd., North Little Rock, with doors opening at 2:30. Attendees will be treated to a fashion show, along with educational workshops and panel discussions and other presentations on hair, fitness, women’s health and mental health. Fashion en Blanc
The Enough Campaign presents Fashion en Blanc, a show featuring Arkansas’ own “Project Runway” star Korto Momolu as special guest, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Chenal Event Venue, 21 Rahling Circle in Little Rock. A VIP experience, $75, begins at 5 p.m. General admission ticketholders ($55) will be admitted at 6. Rhonda Aaron will serve as host for a show featuring “one-of-a-kind” pieces from the fall/winter collection of Bag It Up Boutique, an online store whose owner and CEO is Tonia Grant. Grant is also founder and CEO of the Enough Campaign.
