KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot will open this week in Baton Rouge. and, just like in the K-dramas, diners cook their own food at their table.
The all-you-can-eat restaurant opens 11:30 a.m. Thursday at 7620 Andrea Drive in Baton Rouge, across from the St. George Catholic Church on Siegen Lane.
KPOT is a franchise restaurant chain that began in New Jersey in 2018. It became known for having tables with built-in grills where diners cook the meats and vegetables of their choosing. The Baton Rouge is the 120th location and the first in Louisiana.
KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot has its hours listed on an exterior window on Aug. 25, 2025.
Nancy Zhang, the KPOT regional manager of Louisiana, worked at the original location when it opened about seven years ago in New Jersey.
The menus usually range a little bit depending on the location, Zhang said. The Baton Rouge location’s menu has several categories including sliced meat, seafood, sides, soy beans, noodles and vegetables.
More than two dozen meat and seafood options are available, including prime brisket, chicken bulgogi, pork belly, jumbo shrimp and spicy baby octopus. Additional items may be added, depending on what the community wants, Zhang said.

In addition to a regular drinks bar, there’s a sauce and appetizer bar with a variety of dipping sauces and traditional Korean side dishes — kimchi, pickled vegetables and a variety of seasoned salads.
Plus, KPOT offers a selection of bubble tea.
“Come here with an open mind and a big tummy,” Zhang said.
